The Peacocks shopping centre and Wolsey Place are home to over 170 shops and the town boasts a diverse range of stores from independents to anchor stores such as Primark, TK Maxx and Debenhams. Upon completion of Victoria Place a full-range Marks and Spencer store will enhance this line-up.

DINING

The town centre has a range of excellent restaurants including Côte, Carluccios, Bills and Tante Marie. Alternatively enjoy authentic, artisan food from around the world - Cantonese, Thai, Malay, Bangladeshi, Bengalese. Woking's diversity is celebrated best in its extensive food offer.

WORK AND COMMERCE

The town is a magnet for large corporations that are attracted by Woking’s excellent transport links to the City, as well as the opportunity to recruit some of the many skilled professionals who choose to live in this vibrant town. McLaren Racing is just one of the many internationally successful companies that enjoys a presence. There is a wealth of contemporary office space available to host a range of businesses and safeguard the area’s well-earned reputation as a commercial hub. Woking Borough Council is a major supporter of business, commerce and enterprise with a range of initiatives to help companies, including the 'Woking Works' project.

SPORT

Woking Leisure Centre caters for a wide range of both indoor and outdoor sports and the adjacent Pool in the Park offers both recreational and competitive swimming. Whilst Woking Hockey Club and Woking AC compete at National and International level in their respective sports. There are a also a number of Private Sports clubs, including David Lloyd and PureGym, and the Hoebridge is one of the many golf clubs in the area. Woking Football Club or ‘The Cards’ is in the Vanarama League and its home ground is just outside the Town centre.

CULTURE AND LEARNING

The Ambassadors New Victoria Theatre offers high quality productions encompassing drama, opera, comedy, pantomime and musicals. It hosts the best of both West End and amateur productions and the adjacent Cinema offers six state of the art digital screens.

Visit an exhibition of world-famous art at Woking’s new, innovative gallery The Lightbox. Featuring well-respected touring and permanent exhibitions, such works by Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Elizabeth Frink and Damien Hirst, plus extensive private collections; or visit the Surrey History Centre. Schools: Woking has a plethora of high quality educational establishments, ranging from primary, through high school, to an excellent choice for further education at Woking College.

OPEN SPACES

The town offers unrivalled public open spaces and miles of land to walk and breathe fresh air. Adjacent to the town centre is Horsell Common, made famous as the landing site for Martians in HG Wells War of the Worlds. Cycle or stroll along one of Britain's most picturesque waterways, the Basingstoke Canal, with its stretches of canal designated as ‘Sites of Special Scientific Interest’ for their flora and fauna, and enjoy the tranquillity, or explore the Green Belt and Surrey’s beautiful countryside, including the North Downs.
