WBC is seeking to appoint a development partner who will be selected following a OJEU process. Bidders will be required to submit the necessary financial information, feasibility proposals and viability appraisals along with examples of their track record in delivering similar schemes. WBC will provide multi service support to the selected partner, including assistance to assemble all the necessary land interests, using their compulsory purchase powers if appropriate. In addition, WBC will assist in securing the co-operation of third parties, such as utilities and key stakeholders. WBC has already published a draft of its Site Allocations DPD, which will establish an in-principle use of the Gateway site for the mixed-use development.

It is envisaged that following the securing of a suitable partner, assembling the site, gaining planning permission and implementing infrastructure-enabling works, construction will commence on site in 2020.
